I immediately was drawn to them because I have a special spot in my heart for orange and cream stuff. It started during my glorious one year run on the tee-ball circuit in Kindergarten. Back then after every win, we would all get a little plastic orange and cream cup with a wooden "spoon." Now I am not sure if everyone got these even if you lost (since our team was undefeated I had no idea what it felt like to lose until I was much older...that probably explains a lot.) so I will just assume only winners get orange and cream stuff. (The real taste of champions.)
So this is by far the easiest recipe, and easily in my top 5 in taste (I know I only have done about 5 posts but believe me... they are delicious.) The ingredients are...
So all you need is 6 ounces of orange Jello mix, 2 cups of Cool Whip, and Water. That is it.
Start off like making regular Jello (the instructions are on the box but since this is such a simple recipe I will put them here not to insult your intelligence, but the fill space in between pictures.)
So in a bowl mix the Jello powder with 2 cups of boiling water.
Keep stirring until completely dissolved.
Once dissolved, stir in half a cup of cold water.
Now stir in about Two cups of Whip Cream. (Make sure that the Cool Whip is defrosted because if not, it will take a while to mix together.) Even if you put in more than needed it will just make a bigger "cream layer.
Mix until the liquid turns into a milky looking color.
Now just pour it into a dish, I used a regular casserole dish and put it into the refrigerator until its firm (I put it in all night, but I think it was done at about the 4 hour mark.)
And now is the really neat trick...because of either magic, or science, or magical science, when it is forming in the fridge, the layers will separate making not just a tasty treat, but a neat looking treat.
Just cut and serve.
It looks neat, is really easy, and tastes pretty close to orange creamsicles.
I kinda feel cheated as a kid, I didn't like Jello all that much, but if it was done like this, I would have eaten it a lot more.
Depending on how fast I eat this, I might try a different flavor than Orange.
So this is my last week of vacation so I will possibly be bringing next weeks to work.
Also I was thinking of possibly doing regular food recipes and not just "Treats" would any of my few readers be interested in that (If so post a comment on the blog.)
I have a few ideas of weird, creative, easy dinner ideas that I could show you (you might even get my famous "Buffalo Chicken Lasagna" recipe.) Let me know.
I'd be interested in dinner recipes! But I am pescatarian so I'd be picky and probably not be interested in recipes involving meat.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about Jell-O, but this sounds delicious... and easy... hmm...
