So this weekend I fell to the pressure of long lines of the supermarket and caught myself buying one of those little paper recipe books. Usually it is very easy to say no, but they know my weakness...HALLOWEEN!!!
So after looking through it and seeing that there is no really new ideas in there (full disclosure, I have about 15 different Halloween books already) I decided to just leave it in the living room. Little did I know, this became my twin sons favorite book. Mostly because every page was greeted with "I EATS THIS...I EATS THAT TOO."
So I was awoken from my nap today with "DAD...I wants Cant-a-pillar." Me having nothing else to do this afternoon decided to make it a challenge. I decided to take something from the magazine, get everything from the shoppette (for you non-military people, that is the corner store/ gas station) you know the place with very little food, but more than one isle worth of alcohol.
So this is my "much easier/ much faster/ much better Cant-a-pillar." This is what the one in the book looks like.
So first off, I don't need all those ingredients, an it looks kinda weird with a different body and head parts. For mine, all you need is four things
Rolled Waffers, Pull and Peel Twizlers, M&M's (I love the peanut butter ones), and little donettes. Those are what I found from the shoppette, I was going to just use "Snowballs" but they didnt have them.
So I started with peeling and cutting the twizlers. I am sorry that I used a red plate that blended with the twizzlers, but I already started, and my goal was to make them in less than 5 minutes.
Next...
"Violate the donuts with the waffers." It was so hard to not giggle like a teenage boy during this step, but some how I managed.
Continue to violate, until the the waffer is full. Now time to make them pretty.
Put the red pieces down for legs, and longer ones for antennas. If you haven't already eaten all the M&Ms use two for eyes. And in just a few minutes.
You have two very happy "almost 3 year-olds"...and THATS...how you make a bug.

ReplyDeleteThank you. Unfortunately its 9:10 on a sunday night, and I am starting to question making sugar topped sugar snacks for my kids.
