Peggy Sue's 50's Diner (Not Hawaii)

Post by The Girl
Hello "the Girl" here. I have some food news and its not in Hawaii, because I'm not currently in Hawaii. Although if you live in Fort Irwin it will be an easy drive for you!

Peggy Sue's 50's Diner
35654 Yermo Road
Yermo, CA 92398

This Diner was AMAZING. I love diners but rarely find one that is worth talking about. I found this one on my way to Las Vegas from San Diego in this tiny little town called Yermo, California. You can't really miss it, there are bill boards and signs from 50 miles out telling you to EAT AT PEGGY SUE'S 50's DINER EXIT... BLAH (I don't remember the number.)

So lets start with the look... it looks like a diner... or a truck stop diner if you want to get more specific. The inside has 50's parffinellia thrown about randomly all over the place. I was actually sort of disappointed with the look because it was really dark inside and wasn't very organized. But none of that mattered once the food arrived.

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Homemade cheesy potato soup, Homemade coleslaw, and a delicious BLT. The BLT was so fresh! Fresh lettuce, fresh tomato, and crispy juicy bacon. The Coleslaw had just the right amount of mayonnaise, which, for me, is key for a really good coleslaw. And the cheesy potato soup was to die for, lots of potato (red potato the best kind), perfectly melted cheese, celery (but not too much because that would have made it gross), onion, and possibly something else I can't remember.

- There's the website if you want to see some pictures. I forgot to take some because I was so happy about the food. hahaha

Let me know what you think if you have gone or are going!!!!

  1. Really, out of everyone on this blog, the one with the most photography awards, HAS NO PICTURES??? You know you have a camera on your phone right? You know, it's not just for playing scramble with friends, it can actually do other things like make phone calls, take pictures, etc. I hope you enjoy the last few days of your vacation.

  2. I immediately started drooling a little when you were talked about homemade cheesy potato soup, but then you ruined it by talking about lettuce and tomatos and cole slaw and celery and all kinds of gross vegetables.... YUCK! You need to learn to eat better! (and by better, I mean things that I like to eat!)
